Transgender Day of Remembrance

The Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) honours the memory of transgender individuals who have lost their lives to anti-transgender violence. Established in 1999 by transgender advocate Gwendolyn Ann Smith, TDOR raises awareness about the violence and discrimination faced by the transgender community. The day involves memorial services, vigils, and educational events, promoting visibility, resilience, and solidarity while advocating for justice and the rights of transgender people.
