He was brought up in Preston and educated and worked in the UK and in Europe in his early career, with particular interest in the environment and healthcare sectors . He settled in South Oxfordshire in 2020 and served as a local councillor from 2021 at both district and county level.

Freddie has a long standing interest in both the practical problems for voters abroad as well as the legislative and administrative barriers they face.  He is currently promoting amendments to the Representation of the People Bill pressing for studies of better and more effective ways for overseas electors to vote.  He is also working behind the scenes to find practical solutions for communicating with constituents abroad.
